Why become what you already are? A professional coaching your crews in accordance with professional aspects. You are buying excellent boat material, acquiring the most up to date top stop watch model to examine the performance of your crew...

But isn’t there something better?

Didn’t you always feel ergometer eliminators to be an insufficient tool and only partially relevant?

Didn’t you always want to be able to measure the actual performance of each of your rowers individually in the boat itself and this under real racing conditions?
Didn’t you want to base your decisions on whom to select for your crew on such parameters?

There is in fact a possibility to fill this gap: an instrument measuring all parameters you are interested in, directly in the boat and for each member of the crew individually!

ROWER EXPERT LIGHT!

The Rower Expert Light is device for multiple measurement of work output, used in advanced training, in order to precisely observe each rowers´ performances.

Device represents the combination of high technology and long term experience as well as positive results in top output training.

Device is equipped with sensors for force, angle, acceleration and boat speed measurement. The main advantage is the individual measurement of the force used by each rower and the measurement of the angular velocity of each oar, which is used to assess the power used.

By using Rower Expert Light it has become possible to read the power of each rower, in his own boat, under training or competition conditions.

In general, the Rower Expert Light provides a perfect piece of equipment for the observation of training effects and technical skills of athletes.

The data from the several sensors could be saved in the central unit and later transferred to your personal computer or presented in Real-Time monitor.

Rower Expert Light is used for the signal measurement on 4 types of boats:

- Skiff (1x)

- Pair (2-)

- Double (2x)

- Four (4-)

Device has capability of choosing among different sampling speeds (100, 50 or 25 samples/second). Its capacity, depending on the selected boat and the sample speed, is shown in the table bellow:

High
(100 samples/sec)
Medium
(50 samples/sec)
Low
(25 samples/sec)

Skiff
Pair

39’ 15’’
(2355 sec)
1h 18’ 30’’
(4710 sec)
2h 37’
(9420 sec)
Double
Four
25’
(1500 sec)
50’
(3000 sec)
1h 40’
(6000 sec)

In case of saving data with telemetry or in the Real-Time mode, the capacity of recorded data depends on the available computer memory.

The device allows recording of a number of successive training sessions during a period of couple days, weeks, and so forth. It also allows data transfer to a PC for analysis at a latter date.

Device is equipped with sensors for measurement of:

- Force of the oar

- Angle of the oar

- Acceleration of the boat

- Velocity of the boat

Force and angle sensorS

With the aim of measuring the force on the oars, two types of force sensors are developed:

- Sensored oarlock

- Oar bending sensor

Sensored oarlock: Sensors are fixed in the oarlock, which is placed in a standard procedure. Sensor can be adjusted to different height and angle. With this kind of sensors, calibration is done only once by the producer, which means that, once it is placed on the boat, it is ready to be used. Basic package consists of 4 scull oarlocks (for Skiff 1x and for Double 2x) and 4 sweep oarlocks (for Pair 2- and Four 4-).

Oar bending sensor: Sensor, fixed on the oar, measures the force used by measuring the deformity of the oar. With this type of sensor, force calibration should be done each time after placing the sensor on the oar. By a simple change
of the plastic holder, the sensor can be used on the scull or sweep oars. In this case, sensor measuring the angle is placed on the pin.

Acceleration and speed sensors

The acceleration sensor is placed in the Rower Expert Light device and is used for measurement of the acceleration along X and Z movement axis.

Speed sensor is placed on the outer bottom side of the boat and through the sensor inside the boat, transmits the information about the boat velocity.

Data collected with Rower Expert Light are sufficient for studying in detail: harmony of the individual movements and forces, differences among power contribution, correct boat and seat adjustments and many other things.

Analyses and decisions are easier to make when supported by objective data. For example, it is possible to go over identical training distances under similar racing conditions with partially different crews and to compare the performance of different rowers in one particular seat. It is also possible to compare the acceleration of the boat with the power and velocity curves of the individual rowers. In addition it can be used to define who is responsible for one or the other instability on the boat, for example due to too concentrated punctual onset of power beyond the main acceleration phase of the whole boat. And many other possibilities.

The Rower Expert Light, not only offers all these advantages with exactness and objectivity, but also helps you save your time. It is easy to install and it reduces the time you need for preparation of the daily training units. Reliability of the sensors, small weight of the equipment, simple handling and the availability of special software are further advantages.

Rover Expert Light is a strong allay to each sportsman and each coach on their way to success...
