The company WEBA has developed a brand new product which gives recreational and top-athletes the best opportunity to simulate the motion stereotype of paddle sport. The complexity of the smooth and gentle motions increases the muscles strength and flexibility of the upper body.

It also offers the optimal cardio vascular training. The unlimited range of resistance is given through air displacement turbine which simulates water fluid dynamics. This break system allows the using of the Kayak ergometer independent from age or fitness-level. The load is regulated by the pulling effort. There is additional mechanism for regulation of the fly whill drag. The working position is adjustable for all body height.

The Kayak ergometer is quality engineered using the heavy duty component. This ergometer could be disassembled in two parts for convenient transportation or storage.

The KAYAK ERGOMETER optimal and cost effective training machine provided with an electronic unit PERFORMANCE MONITOR for monitoring time, stroke rate, force and power. Performance monitor take signals from strain gages sensors for accurate measuring of force and power.

The Display Device is designed to be menu driven and self-explanatory. Via the menu system it’s also possible to adjust all the parameters, to switch data recording on/off, to choose the desired display during the work and to transfer the recorded data to a PC for further analysis in an easy and simple way using the EXPERT 2.1 software package.

When the device is connected to a PC, it is possible to do the software adjustments, to memorize and to follow the complete work on the Kayak Ergo in the REMOTE mode.

Using only 4 buttons (ENTER, ESCAPE, UP, DOWN) it is possible to perform all the Display Device functions. It makes working with the device easy and simple.

Display Device Main Characteristics

  • Recall function
  • Memory status
  • Battery status
  • PC COM port interface. (Serial port)
  • Real time monitoring on the performance monitor or PC
  • The accuracy control or calibration is possible at any time with PC

Display Device Modes

Two modes for presentation of the measured and calculated parameters are available:

  • Text mode
  • Graph mode

Text mode

In text mode, it is possible to follow five parameters at the same time.

Time, Stroke and Heart Rate are standard fields that are presented in all text modes. Main and Average field could be switched to different views pressing UP and DOWN buttons.

Following views are avaliable: Power [W], Forces [N], Energy [J], Graph mode.

Graph mode

In graph mode, two parameters can be followed at once.

In the upper part of the display (Left & Right Average Value) are numerical values of the measured parameters (POWER, FORCE…) and this values are refreshed after each stroke. Left & Right Graph represents graphical interpretation of the measured parametar. Two bars at the middle of the display are presentation of the last stroke, shown separatlyto allow easy comparation of two sides (left & right force, left & right power etc.).

In graph mode, three different views are avaliable. Two of them are predefined (Forces, Power & HR). The last one is Custom mode. Switching through views can be done by pressing ENTER button.

Memory capacity

Data recorded during a session is put in the memory. It’s capacity depends on the sampling rate (table below). The Memory indicator in the Status bar shows the fullness of this memory.

Sample rate
High
(100 samples/sec)
Medium
(50 samples/sec)
Low
(25 samples/sec)
Very Low
(10 samples/sec)
Capacity
8’
(560 sec)
16’
(1120 sec)
32’
(2240 sec)
80’
(5600 sec)

This data can be transferred to PC for further analyse in Expert 2.1 software.

The Recall memory has 30 hours capacity. Average values per minute of the following parameters (Power, Force, Energy, Stroke rate, Heart rate) are memorized in this memory.

EXPERT is a new and unique software designed for everyone, whether competitive athlete or trainer, sports physician or physical therapist, who would like to have control over the measurement and analysis of various detailed sports performance data, all contained in one software package.

EXPERT enables visualisation, storage and analysis of the signals obtained from sensors in real time on a personal computer.

EXPERT not only gives one the exact measurements from a desired time period, viewable in a simple diagram, but also gives the user the opportunity to compare measured data collected in various time periods. The great aspect of EXPERT is the personally organized databank, in which all training sessions, test results and personal data of the athlete are stored!!! One doesn't need thick organizers or various computer programs that require long searches. With EXPERT everything is combined in one program.

The most important aspect of this program is that it is compatible for all fitness machines, whether indoor or outdoor. You only need a single software package, but can, for example, view and work with data from all WEBA products (rower expert, rower ergo, bike expert, bike ergo, kayak expert, kayak ergo, swim ergo, cross country ergo, RowEx indoor and RowEx outdoor).

Two main software characteristics are Real-time monitoring and Recall function. Real –time monitoring gives us the opportunity to follow the sportsmen performance during the session using three modes:

  • Signal mode
  • Analyse Modules Graph Mode
  • XY Plot Mode

All the recorded sessions can be analysed in the Recall mode using one of the following kinds of modes:

  • Signal mode
  • Report mode
  • Analyse modules graph mode
  • Analyse modules statistics mode
  • XY plot mode

The software offers a wide range of analyses for physiological and biomechanical variables:

  • Stroke rate
  • Stroke length (cm)
  • Drive time (ms)Recovery time (ms)
  • Strokes per minute (1/min)
  • Time per stroke (ms)
  • Time total (s)
  • Force average (N)
  • Force peak (N)
  • Time to force peak (ms)
  • Power per stroke (W)
  • Power average (W)
  • Work (J)
  • Work total (KJ)
  • Heart rate (beats/min)
  • Possibility to compare two or more parameters simultaneously
  • Defining values zones for each of the parameters (red bad, green in the zone)
  • 3-D data review
  • Powerful database
  • Comparing workout data for one person
  • Comparing workout data within a group
  • Statistical analysis
  • Recorded and analysed results printing

EXPERT offers various kinds of data organizing possibilities, ranging from producing files to creating a data bank for a single athlete, tasks which are very advantageous in team sports. The date and time are saved and your data will be organized in alphabetical order.

EXPERT is very simple to operate since everything functions on the same principle. Basic operating instructions can be found with the aid of our HELPFILEs, and after starting the program the toolbars offer you an easy form of navigation.
